Willie Lee Matthews "Pootie" was born on July 23, 1960 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late John Henry Matthews and Mary Lee Wilson Matthews. He departed this life March 19th, 2024 in Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas at his home at the age of 63.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Matthews and Mary Lee Wilson Matthews, four brothers; Johnny "Skip" Matthews, George Edward Matthews, Sammie LeRoy Matthews, and Clarence William "Cisco" Matthews.
Willie will truly be missed by his family, friends, and all who loved him. Willie leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Precious Matthews (Alexis) of Arlington, Texas, son Cory Matthews of Blytheville, Arkansas, two brothers; Robert Lee Matthews pf Atlanta, Georgia, and Casey Lee Matthews of Las Vegas, Nevada, four sisters; Pastor Overseer Sherry "Lawrence" Kennedy of Cookeville, Tennessee.
