Zadie Mae Morrow Snell, an exceptional woman, who lived a life full of love and devotion passed away January 30, 2024 after a lengthy illness. She was born December 6, 1940 to the parents of the late Roy Morrow and Ruth Noami Peoples in Longview, TX. She was the first born of nine children.
Zadie accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Collier Chapter Baptist Church in Karnack, Texas where she spent her younger years with her great grandmother whom she adored.
In the early 1950’s, the family moved to Dallas where she continued her education in the Dallas Independent School District.
At the young age of 16, on May 31, 1957, she married Albert Coleman Snell. They were married for 35 years and to this union five children were born.
Zadie was a domestic worker for many years crossing path of people who shower her with love and respect.
In 1988, she united with the Greater Mount Pleasant Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. David Henderson Jr. Zadie was an active and devoted member that served on several ministries, participating in various events and activities, serving faithfully on the Usher Board until her health failed.
Zadie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Morrow and Ruth Noami People; two sisters, Bessie Mae Morrow and Geraldine Morrow Jackson; and brother, Ulysses Morrow.
Zadie leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved children, Rickey Charles Snell, Anthony Ray Snell, Yolanda Denise Snell, Alan Coleman Snell of Lancaster, Texas and Albert Wayn Snell of DeSoto, Texas; her brothers, Louis (Lourbria) Morrow of Dallas, Texas, Leroy Morrow of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Leland Charles (Cathy) Morrow of Lancaster, Texas; two sisters, Ruby Lee Morrow and Jonetha McNeal of Dallas; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
