ZELMA JOINER

Zelma Joiner, a cherished member of the Dallas community, left this world on September 14, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on January 3, 1933, in Dallas, Texas, she dedicated her life to her family, her profession, and the community she loved.

As a talented beautician and the proud owner of Zelma's Beauty Salon in West Dallas, Zelma touched the lives of many through her work. Her salon became a sanctuary for those seeking not only beauty treatments but also a friendly ear and a warm smile. Zelma's commitment to her craft was evident in every interaction, as she embraced all who visited her with genuine care and compassion.

Beyond her professional achievements, Zelma was deeply involved in philanthropic endeavors. Known for her loving spirit and a heart for service, she frequently engaged in activities that helped those in need, including feeding the homeless. Her generous nature was a defining trait that endeared her to friends and family alike.

Zelma's personality shone brightly; she was not only friendly and loving but also a devoted Christian. Her faith was an essential part of her life, influencing her actions and interactions. She participated in church choirs, served as a Sunday School teacher, and contributed to Vacation Bible School, imparting wisdom and love to younger generations.

Family and friends are encouraged to celebrate Zelma’s life during the upcoming prayer service and funeral service. The prayer service will be held on September 27, 2024, at 6:00 PM, followed by the funeral service on September 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Both services will take place at New Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, located at 1930 Gallagher St, Dallas, TX 75212.

Zelma Joiner will be sorely missed, but her spirit of compassion and her contributions to her community will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
