SAMUEL TOWERY

Samuel Joe Towery, better known as “Sam”, was born on August 30, 1960, to the late Joe Towery and Cora Vernell Towery.

Sam accepted Christ at an early age and attended The Emanuel Temple Church of God In Christ, located in Dallas, Texas.

He grew up in Oak Cliff and attended The Dallas Independent School District (DISD). Sam was a hard worker and worked for S&S Office Supply for over ten years as an assembly and delivery driver.

At the age of twenty nine, he met the love of his life, Angela Anita Hubbard. From that marriage, he received two of the greatest gifts a father could ask for; two sons, Bryant, Courtland and a stepson, Cedric, whom he loved dearly until his last breath.

Before he left this world, Sam met a beautiful young lady by the name of Betty Hammond Russell, who became his friend, confidant and companion. She preceded him in death.

Samuel Joe Towery leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Bryant Hubbard, Courtland Hubbard, one stepson, Cedric Hubbard, three sisters, Mary Green (Edgar), JoAnn Towery Brown (Edward), Teresa Smith, three brothers; Fred Brown (Mamie) (preceded in death), Alfred Towery, Gary Towery, Goddaughters; Shantha “Shan” Pearson and Pippi, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
